Well known and respected Saskatoon nurse, long time advocate for patients and the nursing profession, Pamela Komomoski RN (NP), has been nominated for SRNA Region 6 Council member and asks for your vote.

Pamela’s work has demonstrated a strong commitment to nursing through education, practice and leadership. Some of her achievements are the advancement of the nurse practitioner role at the University of Saskatchewan, assisting the SRNA with RN(NP) standards and competency development, organizing conferences and participating on nursing committees in executive positions to name a few.   Always up for professional challenges, she looks forward to growing while contributing to nursing professional regulation by representing RN's and RN(NP)'s on SRNA council.

 This is Pamela's position statement:

“My nursing career began in 1985 upon completion of the Registered Nursing program at SIAST, Kelsey Institute.  I worked for three years on Orthopedics at Royal University Hospital, and then went on to Student Health Services, where I continue to work full-time as an RN, Nurse Practitioner.  I completed the Advanced Clinical Nursing Program through SIAST, Wascana Institute in 1999. My work at Student Health Services involves providing primary care to university students as well as being involved in the university community.

I am an active member of the Nurse Practitioners of Saskatchewan (NPOS) as well as Saskatchewan Association of Nurse Practitioners (SANP).  I have served on the NPOS Education Committee and have been Vice-Chair for NPOS.  I have participated in numerous committees locally, provincially and nationally.

My work as a Nurse Practitioner at the University of Saskatchewan has given me valuable experiences and provided opportunity for development of the role of the Registered Nurse.  This experience will be beneficial in relating to the issues that nurses are facing today. As health care demands increase, and the struggle to provide care continues, I look forward to work with Council to ensure that Nursing can meet the health care needs of the people of Saskatchewan.  I commit to being an advocate for the RN's and RN Nurse Practitioners in meeting this goal. Thank you for your support.”
